This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app Tide (不居). We keep data handling simple, transparent, and local-first.

Unless this policy says otherwise, Tide does not upload your data to the developer’s own servers.

When you create time cards, the app stores the content you enter or choose on your device, including titles, dates, all-day settings, categories, icons, theme colors, pinned or archived state, reminder rules, subscription name, price, billing cycle, App Store ID, habit goals, manual check-ins, and custom icon images.

If you add a location reminder to a card, the place name and coordinates you chose are stored with that reminder.

The app also stores necessary preferences such as appearance, theme color, home display count, haptics, notification status, and whether iCloud sync is enabled.

By default, your data is stored on this device and in the App Group container so the app, widgets, and Live Activities can read it. Tide does not upload this data to the developer’s servers.

If you turn on iCloud sync, time cards and manual check-ins sync across devices signed in to the same Apple ID through Apple iCloud / CloudKit private database. Apple provides that sync, subject to Apple’s privacy and iCloud terms.

Check-in evidence from Apple Health is not included in iCloud backup. After you restore on a new device, Tide re-syncs from Health within the access you granted.

Tide requests “When In Use” location permission only when you choose to add a location reminder to a card, or tap “Use Current Location” in the place picker. You can also search for or select a place on the map without reading your device’s current location.

After you grant permission, iOS uses the saved place name and coordinates to create a local notification trigger for arriving at or leaving that place. Tide reads the device’s current location once only when you tap “Use Current Location,” to fill the place you are choosing.

Tide does not continuously collect device location, use it for advertising, profiling, or cross-app / cross-website tracking, or upload it to the developer’s own servers. The place name and coordinates are stored on your device and, if iCloud sync is on, sync with the card through a CloudKit private database across devices signed in to the same Apple ID. You can delete the reminder or revoke location permission in Settings at any time.

Only when you open the detail screen for a card with a location reminder does Tide send that card’s saved place coordinates to Apple WeatherKit, to show current conditions, hourly forecasts, and weather alerts when available. Weather requests do not use your device’s live location and do not load weather into local notifications.

Apple handles the request; it is not sent to the developer’s own servers. Weather results are used only to render the detail screen and are not written to the card or synced to iCloud. When Apple weather data is displayed, the app shows the Apple Weather mark and provides the data-source and legal-attribution link.

When you choose a custom icon, the app requests access to the photo you pick and uses it only to create and store that card’s icon. Custom icon data is stored with the card locally, and may sync through iCloud if sync is on.

When you save a share image, the app requests permission to add to your photo library and saves the generated card image to Photos.

When you search for an app related to a subscription, Tide sends the search keywords to the Apple iTunes Search API to show results. This request is not sent to the developer’s own servers.

Requests to Apple Health and WeatherKit are also handled by Apple, as described above.
